It might not feel like it yet, but spring is right around the corner. Soon the snow will melt, the grass will turn green, and the sound of birds will fill the air. Flowers will bloom across the grounds, bringing color and life back to every corner of Crooked Willow.

Weather
Spring in Minnesota is breathtaking. The landscape bursts into green, and flowers push through the soil, filling the property with color. It’s one of the most beautiful times of year to say “I do.”
For couples dreaming of warmer weather, late May is the best bet. Minnesota’s spring can be unpredictable—some years bring sunny April weddings, while others hold onto snow until May.
No matter what the forecast brings, Crooked Willow is ready. The venue includes stunning indoor ceremony spaces that can be transformed in minutes. Whether the day is bright and warm or cool and rainy, the celebration will be beautiful, comfortable, and unforgettable.
Our Grounds
Our venue sits on 17+ acres of rolling hills, mature oak trees, and includes a massive wildflower field that we recently added last year! By mid-may you can expect our grounds to be green, the trees to be budding, and the earliest flowers in our fields starting to bloom! We have strategically planned our grounds to include plenty of walking paths and paved areas as well in case the ground is still wet or muddy from snowmelt and spring rains! You can rest assured that you can get stunning photos no matter the weather! Our outdoor ceremony space is nestled beneath mature oak trees with the wildflower field as its backdrop. It is absolutely stunning in the spring!

Spring weddings allow for some stunning wedding themes! From timeless whites and pastels to playful color palettes, spring wedding colors always pop against our green rolling hills and red barn!
Local Lodging
We do not offer lodging on our grounds by design. Why? Because we have found that it often detracts from the wedding day! Guests leave the wedding early or disappear entirely! But we do have a list of some great local spots to aid in your wedding planning! If you’re looking for local lodging nearby in the spring, here are some of our favorite spots! Make sure to book early, because they fill up fast!
Fairfield Marriot in Alexandria – located in the heart of the city with some of Alex’s best restaurants just minutes away, this hotel is a great spot for you and your guests
Lake Darling Resort – a crowd favorite and household name in the area, this adorable resort sits on the shores of Lake Darling and offers lodging for you and your guests.
Grandview Getaways – if you want something a bit more private and intimate, their cottage-style Lake House is stunning and located on a beautiful lake lot. They have recently added a second location as well. They also offer discount to Crooked Willow couples!
