Tanner and Ally’s story is straight out of a movie! From the moment they first started talking to the unforgettable and hilarious ending to their wedding day, it’s clear that they are truly meant for one another. We were thrilled to be a part of their story as they choose our country wedding venue in MN as the location for their beautiful wedding day.
Their Story
Tanner and Ally both went to the same high school, but they didn’t actually meet until shortly after when the two found each other on a mutual friend’s fishing boat. Although the group was out late, shooting dogfish and carp, Tanner and Ally decided to stay up all night! They were talking about their dreams and goals as the sun came up. They’ve been inseparable ever since!
Fast forward six years to April 2021. Tanner had purchased a ring just in time for Ally’s April birthday; but the moment wasn’t right so he held onto it a little longer. Around that same time, Tanner adopted his first puppy. When he left to go pick him up, Ally also left for Battle Lake. She thought she was attending a celebration for a friend’s engagement, when really Tanner was behind the whole thing! He was going to meet her there! Tanner tied the engagement ring to his new puppy’s handkerchief and hid with a photographer in the bushes nearby Ally’s family cabin. When Ally walked by and Tanner popped out, she was completely surprised!
Their Theme
The couple went with a trendy modern Western theme. Cow skin rugs, leather accents, deep red florals and plenty of greenery brought the theme together. They went with classic American food (burgers and wings) served buffet-style. (This literally sounds like the perfect wedding, don’t you think?!)
Their Day
Tanner and Ally married on a sunny August day. The weather couldn’t have been better! Their day was effortless and stress-free, which they both appreciated! Thanks to their incredible family and vendors, they were able to enjoy every moment. There were plenty of memories made. One of their family members had recently lost a spouse to cancer. The wedding was her first big event since the loss. Both Tanner and Ally mentioned how honored they felt to have shared that day with her. Grandma Luella (who has suffered with dementia for years) gave the perfect dinner blessing!
And to top it all off, Tanner and Ally ended the day getting locked out of their own home! After the two hopped off the party bus at the end of the night, they realized that Tanner had grabbed the wrong key! Just as they were about to spend the night in the garage, they noticed the bathroom window was open! Tanner hoisted Ally (who was still wearing her gown and heels) through the tiny bathroom window! (See the photo below!) What a hilarious and unforgettable end to their wedding day!
